As a Chemist at Jälle Technologies, you’ll take the lead on improving and refining our recycling processes in the lab.

​

You’ll design and run chemical experiments, analyze results, and suggest practical changes to make our methods safer, cleaner, and more efficient. Your expertise will help us ensure consistent quality as we move from small-scale tests toward pilot production.

About the position

What you'll do

As a Chemist at Jälle, you'll play a key role in developing and optimizing our recycling and material synthesis processes:

  • Design and conduct experiments for leaching, metal recovery, and solution purification, using acids, oxidants, and precipitation methods.

  • Develop and optimise chemical synthesis routes for graphene oxide

  • Perform sample characterisation using XRD, AAS, etc. and interpret results to guide process improvements.

  • Scale promising lab processes toward pilot-level production and continuous flow systems.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary R&D team and contribute to internal reporting and IP documentation.

What we're looking for

  • MSc or PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related fields.

  • Practical experience in:

    • Wet lab synthesis and thermal/chemical reduction processes

    • Safe handling of acids, oxidants, and laboratory-scale reactors

  • Familiarity with graphene, carbon-based materials, or battery chemistry is a strong plus.

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong analytical and documentation skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, research-intensive startup environment.

  • Fluent in English (Estonian is a bonus).
