Graphene oxide for improving composites

The oxygen groups on graphene oxide interact with fibre surfaces and with epoxy and polyurethane, the basis for a stronger bond between fibre and resin. We're starting our first composite trials with partners now.

APPLICATIONS · COMPOSITES

Who we're looking for

01

Fibre sizings and treatments

Manufacturers developing fibre sizings and surface treatments for glass, carbon and natural fibres, with a focus on fibre–matrix adhesion and composite performance.

02

Coatings for composite parts

Formulators of epoxy and polyurethane coatings looking to improve mechanical properties, barrier performance and durability of composite surfaces.

03

Resins and composite parts

Resin suppliers and composite manufacturers exploring graphene additives to improve mechanical performance and develop higher-value composite products.

PRODUCTS

Which product fits

Tell us about your current formulation and what you want to improve. We can help define suitable starting dosages and testing conditions.

FIRST TRIALS

What to test it for

01

Fibre - matrix adhesion

Measured, for example, as interlaminar shear strength.

02

Toughness

How well the cured part resists cracks and impact.

03

Protective performance

How well coatings protect composite parts in use.

These are targets we validate with partners, not results we claim yet.

Shape the first trials with us

Early partners choose the system, the test and the success criteria. Tell us what you'd like to improve.
