Climate-KIC recognises Jälle’s circular materials innovation with €25,000 grant support.
Jälle Technologies has been awarded a €25,000 grant as one of the top four winning start-ups of ClimaTech Connect 2025, a European programme supporting early-stage climate tech ventures with high potential for impact.
ClimaTech Connect is a joint initiative by Climate-KIC and 28DIGITAL, funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). The programme supports climate-focused start-ups through training, mentoring, and ecosystem access, culminating in a Demo Day where selected companies present their solutions to an expert jury, investors, and industry representatives.
At the ClimaTech Connect Demo Day in Valencia, Jälle Technologies was recognised for its work on upcycling graphite waste from lithium-ion battery recycling into high-performance graphene-based materials. The technology addresses a critical gap in today’s battery recycling value chain, where graphite — accounting for a significant share of battery mass — is typically incinerated or landfilled.

By transforming this waste stream into valuable materials, Jälle Technologies contributes to circular economy goals, reduced emissions, and greater European material sovereignty.
“ClimaTech Connect gave us valuable exposure, feedback, and the opportunity to validate our approach alongside other ambitious climate tech teams,” said Erki Ani, CEO of Jälle Technologies. “The grant support helps us take the next steps in advancing our technology and engaging with industrial partners.”
The €25,000 grant will support Jälle Technologies’ continued technology development and early commercial validation efforts, as the company works with partners across recycling, materials, and industrial sectors.
